Aged 31
John Russell was born on 18th January 1914 in Moulton (Newmarket Q3-1914 3B:853), son of George J and Agnes A. RUSSELL (née MOSS).
He was a butcher's slaughterman/roundsman in the 1939 register, at Glen Iris, Newmarket Road, Moulton with his widowed mother [8-12-1888] sisters Dorothy [26-3-1912] later Mrs POTTER and Olive [15-9-1915] later Mrs KIDD. |
On the Army Roll of Honour It is not known at present if he died of illness or wounds, six weeks after the Axis surrender. Being in the RASC it is almost impossible without his Army records to find more details of where and when he was wounded/taken ill. |
